Breast cancer arises following the accumulation of a series of genetic alterations in mammary epithelial cells: most of them are acquired over lifetime (somatic mutations) but some alterations are pre-existing (germinal mutations and/or genetic variations).
The research projects developed in our team aim to better characterise the causative genetic alterations involved in the initiation, progression or metastasis of breast cancer. We are also interested in BRCA1 functions.
