National structuring programs & networks
The CRCL has been extremely successful during the past decade in acquiring and maintaining support through competitive structuring programs that have enriched the CRCL basic and clinical cancer research community. Notably, with their clinical partners at the CLB and HCL, CRCL teams have actively participated in the Fondation Synergy Lyon Cancer, the INCa-labelled LYon integrated Research Institute in Cancer (LYRIC/LYriCAN), the Laboratory of Excellence (DEVweCAN/DEV2CAN) and the Institut François Rabelais for Interdisciplinary Research on Cancer (PLASCAN).
Moreover, the CRCL is part of the regional network on cancer research, namely the CLARA Cancer Research Cluster.
Interreg ALCOTRA project
In less than ten years’ time, the Lyon-Turin rail link will change the landscape between France and Italy and between the ALCOTRA regions. The aim of the TL2C “Turin-Lyon Against Cancer” project is not only to prepare for this, but also to make the Lyon-Turin axis the driving force behind cancer research. By bringing together the two largest centres in the area, the Centre Léon Bérard (CLB) with its cancer research centre (CRCL) and the Fondazione del Piemonte per l’Oncologia (FPO-IRCCS) in Turin, the project is first and foremost part of this ongoing future.
