Fabrice Lavial during the Impulscience 2022 award ceremony
Dr. Fabrice Lavial, who leads the “reprogramming, stem cells and oncogenesis” lab at CRCL, is one of the 7 laureate of the Impulscience programm. His research work focuses on the genetic mechanisms that allow to keep the benefits of cell reprogramming while avoiding the risk of developing cancer. Understanding the mechanisms involved and thus managing to limit the risks associated with cancer would constitute a considerable advance for regenerative medicine and the establishment of new anti-tumor strategies.
To ensure the success of this ambitious research program, Fabrice Lavial will receive financial support from the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation to the tune of 2.3 million euros over the next 5 years.
